Artist “Teppei Sasakura”
1954
Born in Hyogo Prefecture.
1977
Graduated from the Commercial Design Department of Musashino Art University.
After working as a graphic designer, he became illustrator under contractto an advertisement production company.
1980
Become freelance. Made (over 200) illustrations principally for Morinaga& Co,Ltd. during a period of 10 years.
1987
Created illustrations of towns of the Romantic Highway in southern Germanyfor the “Romantic Gallery” series in a monthly installment in TheMainichi Newspapers color edition.
1988
Created illustrations of towns in France for “Romantic Colored Streets”series in a monthly installment in The Mainichi Newspapers color edition.
1990
Held his first solo exhibition at Spiral Gallery, Aoyama, Tokyo, whichhe started to devote himself to producing works as an artist.
1991
Presented his first serigraph “Cadaques”.
Submitted work in the Los Angeles Art Expo.
1992
Produced commemorative print “Utrecht” for Floriade / 1992 heldin the Netherlands.
Submitted same works in the New York Art Expo.
1997
Presented CD-ROM “The Art of Teppei Sasakura”, receiving favorablereviews.
1998
Produced “Wing of Heart” as the image art commemorating the completionof Fuji television Network / Nippon Broadcasting Co.’s rebuilt head officebuilding.
December, first museum solo exhibition at “Daimaru Museum Tokyo”,where comprehensively showing all his works to date including those duringhis illustrator days.
2000
January, established Sasakura Teppei Office: Art terrace Inc. mainly dealingwith print publishing.
October, publication of the book of paintings “Teppei Sasakura”by Kyuryudo.
2001
Work “Blessing” became official work of Italy, Firenze, JapanCultural and Economic Exchange Association.
2002
September, publication of the catalogue raisonne “the Teppei Sasakuraall prints collection 1991-2002” (by Kyuryudo) which covered all theprint works published until now.
November, presented DVD video “The Art World of Teppei Sasakura”,receiving favorable reviews.
2004
April, publication of “the poem & art works of Teppei Sasakura. ～In the Gentle Season～” by Kyuryudo.
May, held first foreign solo exhibition at Recanati in Italy.
2005
September, Held solo exhibition at Firenze in Italy.
2006
October, Held joint exhibition with Liu Chang Shun in Beijing, China.
2007
Submitted same works in the New York Art Expo.
2008
July, Held solo exhibition at Paris in France.
2010
July, Publication of “Teppei Sasakura Europe, Travel Art Collection”by Kyuryudo.
2013
July, Publication of the catalogue raisonne “the Teppei Sasakura allprints collection 2002-2013″(by Kyuryudo) which covered all the printworks published in 2002- 2013.
2015
February, Held solo exhibition at Kodai-ji (Kyoto, Japan). And June, Heldsolo exhibition at Firenze in Italy.
2017
March, Publication of “Teppei Sasakura Europe, Travel Art CollectionII” by Kyuryudo.
2018
Released the DVD video “Teppei Sasakura Peaceful Painting World”.
2021
January, Held solo exhibition commemorating the 30th anniversary of painting at the Ueno Royal Museum.
In addition, he has created over 200 print works since 1991, has receivedfavorable reviews.
Moreover, he has held solo exhibitions in the many famous department stores.
